Dancing Girl
If you've wondered how I was able to get all this sewing done this week, this is it. Hooray for Princess Dance Camp!! Avery did wonderful at her little show at the conclusion of the week. We're looking forward to many more events like this in her life.

Baby's Got Bumpers
As the fabrics come together, you can start to see the Moroccan flare we're giving to the nursery. These crib bumpers are essentially finished and I have big ideas I'm hoping will work out for the crib skirt. I'm using mostly fabrics from Dena Design's Kumari Garden line. There is one print from Dena's Tea Garden Line, and the stripe is from a line called Dolly Dresses. I used Sew4Home's great crib bumper tutorial once again. In the midst on one of my crazy sleepless nights, I totally revised my original fabric layout and came up with the pieced side and striped piping. I'm actually grateful for that particular sleepless night.

A Step Up
I sent my mom on a mission that resulted in one of my favorite gifts Avery received for her birthday. I started longing for Rowdy Maui designs back here when I noticed their stuff showing up at Warrenton. My friends have always mentioned the shop in Rockport, TX, but I have yet to visit. When I spotted a bird step stool at my friend Katy's house, I knew Avery needed one. Long story shortened, they didn't have any stools at the time, but would be willing to do a custom order. PERFECT! My mom sent a picture of the fabric I used in Avery's shower curtain and ordered an unfinished stool online to be delivered to their shop. Then this little number made the airplane trip with my parents for Avery's birthday. It's the cutest! I have a feeling an elephant stool may be in our future.

Blank Canvas
I've been waiting until I feel like Avery's big girl room is complete to document the pictures. Well, I never feel like its complete, so I've yet to post any pictures. For the new baby's nursery, I thought I would try a different method. I think I'll show bits and pieces along the way as I finish them. Then, I'll do a reveal when I think it is sufficiently complete.
Way back here I started scheming up the plans for the new baby's nursery. Well, We've decided to go with the Moroccan / elephant nursery theme. When we were still cleaning up the aftermath from the fiesta parties, I recruited my dad to help with the first coat of paint. Much to Todd's delight, we selected a color in the blue family (Todd is terrified of his future pink and purple world with all girls.) This is Jamaican Aqua by Benjamin Moore. It's bright and fresh, and I'm loving it. So, there you have it, this is our grand starting point. Can't wait to get more projects rolling.

Beach Babe
The waters were a bit rough a couple of the days we spent in Florida, so one afternoon we hoped over to the bay side for some of the calm. Avery didn’t even hesitate with these tiny waves, but the main beach was a bit intimidating.

Sandy bottoms were a norm for the week.

Giants crushing Daddy’s sandcastles often made an appearance.

At the end of most days when I asked Avery what her favorite part was, the usual answer was playing with Baby Palmer.

Collecting sea shells was the best activity on the main beach.

Besides running and flopping in the sand of course.

Flying a Cinderella kite took all her concentration.

We all had a wonderful time, and we are grateful for the time spent with our family.
