Dallas Zoo

We are still enjoying our extended stay in Mississippi, but I thought I would pop in to share our trip to the Dallas Zoo while we were visiting my sister.

Progressive Christmas

Avery has had small glimpses of Christmas festivities as we make our way from our house in Texas to Todd's family in Mississippi. We opened a few presents at our house before we left. Then, we had more fun at Omie and Opa's in San Antonio. Avery really enjoys ripping up the paper.
Her new chair was a big hit.She did great with Ho, Ho, Ho despite missing her morning nap and encroaching on the afternoon nap. We were thrilled with the results.

Next up, Dallas with Aunt Sassy and Uncle Lane. Then, we will make the final leg to Mississippi.

When I Should Have Been...

...wrapping presents, addressing Christmas cards, or doing laundry during Avery's morning nap, I was putting together little gifts for Avery's Mother's Day Out teachers. I can't seem to stop starting new projects. I found this great recipe with free printable tags over at Bake It Pretty. I used some cute favor boxes from Michael's to package up the tea mix.I love Bake It Pretty! I used these cute retro liners to serve up my three layer bars at the cookie exchange. Every baker needs to do some shopping on this site.

Cookie Exchange

The cookies are baked and packaged. The recipes are printed.
The Santa hat cake pops are prepared......and packaged. The menu is ready.
I can't wait for the guests to arrive tonight to spread some Christmas cheer and baked goods!

You can find the fun photo templates I used here. All credit for the cake pops goes to the very talented Bakerella.

One More Video

Are you tired of the videos yet? Avery's little antics are so cute these days that I can't help but want to capture each moment. I can't post about my sewing activities lately since they all seem to be Christmas gifts, so you'll have to suffer through a few more videos.

Holiday Wreaths

Over Thanksgiving, I helped my sister put together this yarn wreath for her front door. These are fairly simple to pull together and fun to make. I made this one later to hang in my kitchen.
You can find the tutorial for making the larger fabric flowers here at Heather Bailey's blog. I'll try to do a tutorial the next time I make one of these wreaths. I think a Valentine's Day and/or Easter wreaths would be great too.
